From the Serengeti to Southeast Asia, the Amazon to the Arabian Peninsula wherever you are heading, Slough Travel Clinic will make sure you get there protected.
We provide travel health consultations and vaccinations for patients heading to destinations across Africa, Asia, South America, the Middle East, and Europe. Select your destination below to find out which vaccines and health precautions are typically recommended for your trip.
Africa is one of the most diverse travel destinations in the world, spanning from Egyptian city breaks to Kenyan wildlife safaris, Ethiopian highlands, and coastal Zanzibar retreats. Health risks vary considerably by region and season, but several vaccines are consistently recommended regardless of where on the continent you are headed. Yellow Fever is a particular consideration some African countries require proof of vaccination as a legal condition of entry.
Commonly Recommended Vaccines: Yellow Fever, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Meningitis ACWY, Rabies, Cholera, Diphtheria Tetanus & Polio
Also Consider: Anti-malaria tablets, including Malarone, are strongly recommended for most sub-Saharan African destinations.
Asia covers an enormous range of environments and risk profiles. From the urban centres of Japan and Singapore to the rural villages of Cambodia, the trekking routes of Nepal, and the tropical islands of Indonesia and the Philippines. Japanese Encephalitis, Typhoid, and Hepatitis A are among the most frequently recommended vaccines for the region, with Rabies and Dengue Fever also warranting serious consideration depending on your activities and length of stay.
Commonly Recommended Vaccines: Japanese Encephalitis, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies, Dengue Fever, Cholera, Diphtheria Tetanus & Polio
Also Consider: Malaria risk is present in parts of South and Southeast Asia. We assess your specific route before prescribing.
South America draws travellers with its extraordinary biodiversity, ancient ruins, and vibrant cities. But destinations like Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, and Colombia come with real infectious disease risks that should not be overlooked. Yellow Fever vaccination is compulsory for entry into several South American countries and highly advisable for travel into jungle regions regardless of entry requirements. Typhoid and Hepatitis A are standard recommendations across the continent.
Commonly Recommended Vaccines: Yellow Fever, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies, Meningitis ACWY, Diphtheria Tetanus & Polio
Also Consider: Malaria is present in parts of Brazil, Peru, and Colombia, particularly in rainforest regions away from major cities.
Whether you are travelling to the UAE for business, making a religious pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, or exploring the ancient sites of Jordan and Oman, the Middle East presents its own set of health considerations. The Meningitis ACWY vaccine is a mandatory requirement for all Hajj and Umrah pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia. Hepatitis A and Typhoid are widely recommended across the region, and Rabies risk exists in countries with higher stray animal populations.
Commonly Recommended Vaccines: Meningitis ACWY, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Rabies, Diphtheria Tetanus & Polio
Also Consider: Travellers to rural areas of certain Middle Eastern countries may benefit from advice on heat-related illness, food safety, and insect bite prevention.
Many travellers assume Europe requires no vaccination preparation at all. For Western Europe that is largely true but for Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe the picture is more complex. Tick-Borne Encephalitis is a genuine risk for hikers, campers, and those spending time in forested areas across countries such as Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic states. Rabies is also a consideration in parts of Eastern Europe where wildlife exposure is possible.
Commonly Recommended Vaccines: Tick-Borne Encephalitis, Rabies, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Diphtheria Tetanus & Polio, MMR
Also Consider: Travellers to some rural Eastern European destinations should ensure their routine UK vaccinations are fully up to date before departing.
Book your appointment online or by phone and share your destination, travel dates, and planned activities. The more detail you give us, the more targeted your consultation will be.
At your appointment, one of our qualified travel health nurses will review your itinerary, check your existing vaccination history, and assess any personal health factors that may influence which vaccines or medications are right for you.
If possible, then your vaccines are administered on the same day as your consultation. You leave with your vaccination records, your ICVP certificate where applicable, and written destination-specific health advice to take with you on your trip.
We are an officially authorised Yellow Fever vaccination centre, issuing the internationally recognised ICVP certificate required for travel to countries where proof of vaccination is mandatory.
We offer same-week and short-notice appointments for travellers with imminent departure dates. Contact us and we will do our best to fit you in.
Every recommendation we make is grounded in the latest National Travel Health Network and Centre and World Health Organization guidance, updated as outbreaks and entry requirements change.
You do not need to be registered with a Slough GP or obtain a referral to book with us. Simply contact the clinic directly and we will take it from there.
Yes, often significantly so. Malaria risk, Yellow Fever zones, and Rabies exposure all vary by region within a single country. A city break to Bangkok carries very different risks to a jungle trek in Chiang Rai. This is why we ask for your full itinerary rather than just your destination country.
Visa requirements and vaccination requirements are entirely separate. A country may require no visa from UK passport holders but still mandate proof of Yellow Fever vaccination on arrival. We always recommend checking current entry requirements alongside health guidance before you travel.
Absolutely. Multi-destination travel is actually one of the most important reasons to book a proper travel health consultation rather than simply looking up vaccines by country. We map out your entire route and ensure your protection covers every leg of the journey.
Six to eight weeks before departure is ideal for most destinations. Some vaccine courses, such as Rabies and Japanese Encephalitis, require multiple doses spaced weeks apart. If you are travelling sooner than that, please still contact us partial protection is better than none, and for some destinations a single dose can still provide meaningful cover.
A small number of vaccines, such as Diphtheria Tetanus and Polio and MMR, may be available through your GP on the NHS if you are not up to date. The majority of travel vaccines, however, are not funded by the NHS and are provided privately. We keep our pricing transparent and can provide a full cost breakdown before you commit to anything.
